Student María Honrubia Martínez, 2ºAB Title New Zealand Type here NEW ZEALAND New Zealand is a country that I really like, and I would love to visit it someday. New Zealand is in the southwest Pacific Ocean. It's composed of two main islands: the North Island (Te Ika-a-Maui), and the South Island (Te Waipounamu). Its capital is Wellington. It's one of the last lands to be settled by humans. Because of that, it developed a great biodiversity of animal, fungal and plant life. An 80% of the land is covered in beautiful forest. The kiwi bird is a national symbol. However, there are lots of whales, dolphins, and seals. Have you ever heard the word "haka"? The haka is a traditional ancestral war cry, dance, or challenge of the Maori people in New Zealand. The most famous is Ka Mate, which was composed by Te Rauparaha in 1810 after a battle. The New Zealand national rugby union team, the "All Blacks" perform the Ka Mate before their matches. One of the main reasons why I want to visit New Zealand is because of the film scenaries it has.  The movies were filmed there because of the landscapes of the country and its small size. The most representative of them is the film trilogy The Lord of the Rings.
