Mars' family were all musicians, so they teached him how to sing and to play differrent instruments. He moved to Los Ángeles with her sister, to start his musical career. His first discography was Motown, but it didn't worked. He spend two years composing and thinking of what type of music did he liked the most. Actually, Mars defines himself as a free-musical-style singer, composing music with pop, rock, reggae, R&B, soul, and hip hop, but he identifies more with soul.
