It is a court city andalusí placed in Granada. Formed
by a set of palaces, gardens and strength that was sheltering a real citadel
inside the own city.

The name of alhambra has his origins in an Arabic word
that means (red castle) due to the tone of color of the towers and walls that
were surrounding the hill of The Sabica. It was created by fort , a fortress
(palace) and a small medina (city) quite at the same time.

The monarches ziries were those who constructed the
alhambra beginning in 1238. The Alhambra turned into a Christian court into
1492 when the catholic kings conquered Granada.
Later, several structures were
constructed to shelter prominent citizens, military barracks, a church and a
Franciscan Monastery.
