There were fights in London during a student protest march calling for the cancellation of tuition fees and the retention of maintenance grants. The "free education" march came to a stop outside the Department for Business Innovation and Skills. Some demonstrators dressed in black and with scarves over their faces shouted, and they allowed the march was blue because it was convened by police. Jeremy Corbin sent a message of support to the rally; John McDonnell addressed the students at the start of the march. BETRAYED "Education is a gift from one generation to another, it is not a commodity to be bought and sold and your generation has been betrayed by this government", He told marchers. The National Campaign against Cuts and Fees says that students from campuses around the country will be taking part in the demonstration. OPINION I think the people who have gone to the march have done the right thing because everybody has right to going to university and they can learn by the way they choose and they haven't got to pay anything for it because is unfair than people who want to learn for example Arts have to pay for it. |
